Producer

Mindset

Often the Sound Technician ends up being responsible for "everything" in a service. Every problem, every solution, every last minute addition/tweak to the schedule.

Quite a few things outside of working with the worship team and chasing after an exellent mix!

A Producer is how we can address this issue, giving some of that responsibility and authority to someone dedicated to the service as a whole instead of a specific role.

You are the grease that helps services run smoothly, and while primarily focused on solving problems, you have the authority to decide what is and isn't a problem, and when to fix the problem. For example:

Responsibilities

Random Notes

Ideally, a Producer arrives with ample time to look for & troubleshoot issues, touch base with the team and talk for 10-15 minutes, and then participate/engage with the rest of service.
